... is due for some major updates. With all the construction and renovation going on in the "studio" here, this site has been severely neglected. I'm working on some big changes with a whole new look to kick off 2016 while CLG celebrates turning five years young. FIVE YEARS! Technically, if we're being honest, this little hobby job of mine (which has grown beyond my imagination) celebrated quietly back in September; however, what with all the above-mentioned neglect, we didn't even have cake. Isn't that sad? Here's a sneak peek of the new look: Eeek! Like I said, big changes. What do you think? I'm chewing my nails with indecision here. A new look will be popping up over on Facebook too.
Meanwhile, I had every intention of posting a big end-of-the-year Faves of 2015 kind of thing, but holy cow guys! There were SO many favorites I found it almost impossible to choose which ones to share. I'm going to post some here now to make up for my shameful lack of blogging since August, though this list is far from inclusive of all the wonderful people who chose to work with me this year. Sincere thanks to each and every one of you. I truly appreciate your support. Happy New Year!

... we have a winner! July, as seems par for me, was a whirlwind and is now a speck in the rearview mirror. Before I backtrack too far, though, I've got to make a little announcement that I know this sweet girl has been waiting to hear "officially". If you've been following along over on Facebook, you know I ran an early bird special for senior bookings this summer. Join me in congratulating Miss Allison, the big winner of $400 print credit to spend on any size or shape photo she chooses! We had such a fun time wading in the lake and traipsing through the weeds. She was a great sport and up for anything I threw at her, even when we had a moment of panic and thought we might be barefoot in poison ivy. As it turned out, thanks to "the Google", we learned, "leaves of three, let it be!" and we were good to go with no worries. With her fabulous smile and gorgeous eyes, there are so many fun shots she can pick from to spend that super prize.
There could not have been a more perfect sunset for Lighting up the Lake last night. The True Love on Seneca Lake.
Last year, Caytlyn was the top prize winner in my fair adventure. We took advantage of the beautiful weather tonight and had her prize session. Caytlyn and Dakota were also willing to let me experiment on them with new equipment that came today. Woot woot! So, this post is a bit random with lots of styles going on... Good luck at your tournament this weekend!
Spent the afternoon learning all about off camera flash and different lighting styles today. Kevin, of Ferguson Weddings, shared a wealth of information and let us play with all his "toys". I think my wish list on Amazon grew exponentially each hour I was present.
Okay, it's been radio silent around here lately, but that doesn't mean big things aren't in the works! In a few short hours, this lovely little space will begin to go under some pretty big renovations. When the dust settles, CLG will be able to operate out of its very own studio, allowing me to offer inside-portrait options and more. To begin, the studio will be open by appointment only ... but who knows what the future holds?
I'll be sharing updates and more photos as progress continues and the space begins to take shape. Isn't this exciting?! First things first... I got my puppy fix tonight. I'm going to be sad once this puppy-sitting gig is up. And then I tried Frozen Bubbles: Take Two Sooo much easier with an assistant. Mom froze her fingers for the above. And my nephew was happy to help as well. He said, "You know, Aunt Carrie, I never tried to blow bubbles in winter before." I think he was more interested in watching them pop, but he held still long enough for these below. His favorite is the bottom one because he imagines a vortex or galaxy spinning on the top. One last random picture to end a random post. The evening sky was a beautiful blue tonight.
... toil and trouble!
Here is my first attempt at freezing bubbles. There are some beautiful images of these delicate wisps online. I thought I would give it a try. Not an easy task. I've got my work cut out for me. Happy New Year ... AND ... Happy first anniversary (tomorrow) to my brother and sister-in-law. I was so glad to be able to spend time with them while they were home for Christmas. Sending hugs and happy wishes to KC!
