It's been nearly a month since I spent the weekend with this phenomenal (EC '14!) couple in beautiful Lake George, NY. That means I've spent a month trying to come up with words to express how much it meant for me to be there with them for their wedding day. Every time I try, I get a little teary. So Christian and Natasha, just know you're always in my heart. It was a truly wonderful day, from beginning to end. Hugs to you both!
Hello, friends. I'm sure many of you, like myself, have been keeping abreast of the situation in Texas since Harvey roared through Houston. Being the sentimental sort (and a photographer), I keep thinking of the irreplaceable items so many will probably never recover: photo albums, baby books, mementos, pictures, and so much more.
I'm grateful to live in an area with so many generous folks. My dad is leaving tomorrow to help drive in the convoy of cattle trucks full of donations and supplies graciously given by all of you here in Troy and Bradford County. While they are on the way to the Houston Food Bank, I'm hoping you can help me give back as well. All proceeds earned from any photo sessions held this month, I will be donating to the American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts. If you haven't already done so, now is the time to book those senior photo sessions and family shoots for Christmas cards. Let's work together and help make a difference! Thank you! It's March Madness! Let's have some fun. Warmer weather is on the way (and I, for one, am beyond ready for it), so it's time to start thinking about booking senior portraits and the like. For each photo session booked in March (can be held on a later date), I'm going to sweeten the deal for you. If you can get through the entire photo shoot without blinking, I will give away an 11 x 14 canvas of your favorite image, in addition to the print credit which comes standard. Fun, right? I think so... Just humor me, okay?
Do you have what it takes? Are you up for the challenge? Come on, you know you want to try. No blinking! Can you make the half-court shot? The Hail Mary? Book and HOLD your photo session before the end of March Madness on April 3, and I'll upgrade your prize to a 16 x 20 canvas size. I'm pretty excited about this, people. Don't drop the ball and let me down. Finally, because no post is complete without a photo, here's one of my adorable niece with her blink on. We are family! For some reason, that song is singing through my head. Anyway... isn't my cousin beautiful? I'm so glad to see her so happy. And I'm super glad we got these photos done before the rains hit this week. There was minor grumbling from the future groom on wardrobe; but I tell you, it was a great day of shopping when I picked out his shirt with Kelly. Do me a favor and, when you leave all your friendly comments below, tell Scottie how much you love that plaid. I would very much like to show you the front views from the image below, but those are top secret and under wraps right now. Remember... share some love!
Just a little taste of the fun from Saturday. Let me tell you, these guys know how to party. Congrats to Cait and Dave! Also, can I just say, this cake was the bomb and I really wish I had some more of that peanut butter filling.
Great day yesterday, helping my friend Jeannine with a wedding over in Gaines, PA. It was a hot one! My job was to hang with the guys beforehand. We encountered lots of mosquitos, but no rattlesnakes, so I'll count yesterday as a win in my book. I even won a free ticket on my scratch-off, but then managed to leave it behind. Insert sad face emoji here, ha! The purple chucks were fun, but the guys couldn't wait to get them off. Congratulations Josh and Melissa!
So, yes. I really should update this blog with a little more regularity. To apologize, today I'm sharing eye candy from my second Chris Young concert this summer. You're welcome! Cheers!
I can't wait to see all the fabulous sparkles tonight! You put so much thought into choosing just the right dress for you... don't let the fun be over after just one night on the dance floor. Have your own Rock the Gown mini session. Just $35 for a half hour of fun. You'll receive a 5x7 of your favorite image, as well as your own personalized app to share all your photos with your friends.
