What a great adventure we had this past weekend! This sweet little peanut was feeling much better than the last time we got together for her first birthday pictures. We splashed around Babb Creek together on a beautiful June afternoon. She had fun eating rocks and dirt; I prayed I wouldn't fall in and drop my camera! (For the record, my shorts dried pretty quickly.) I love the reflection of her dress in the water. Aren't her Tiny TOMS so cute? I think their One for One program is wonderful. Giggles for mom, splashing her with water. After our grand adventure in the creek, it was back home for supper and bath time with lots more splashing. This girl LOVES the water! Happy birthday again, peanut!

Just a tiny little post to share my family's Father's Day adventure. My father and my brother participated in the Warrior Dash, another obstacle race. I have to say, I really don't understand the appeal in either running or getting muddy, but they seem to enjoy it and it gives me something to photograph, so... I shot these photos with my favorite new iPhone app-of-the-moment, the Hipstamatic D-series. It's like a disposable camera for you and your friends to pass around. Go try it yourself and see what "develops"! Hope you and yours had a great day. Happy Father's Day to all.
The days after Recital Week are always bittersweet. You welcome the break, yet you miss the hum of excitement backstage, the fun of shellacking your hair into place and layering color on your face, the rush of nerves and adrenaline as you wait in the wings for your entrance. Just as I was starting to feel the effects of this withdrawal, the opportunity to photograph Maggi Frawley's Dancers as they prepared for their own recital fell in my lap. Sweet! Here are some of my favorites from rehearsal Thursday night. There are also some posted here on Facebook. It was challenging working with the constant light changes on stage, but I love the hot pink hair this spot gives. I'm looking forward to returning tonight for the performance and portraits.
Break a leg girls! That's what this little doll is made of. I cannot believe we are celebrating her first birthday here! She wasn't feeling quite herself for picture day but we had fun nonetheless and we have a date to play in the creek together this summer when she's feeling more chipper.
